A gift to the Lasallian Christian Brothers Foundation (LCBF), provides for care of the senior Brothers in the San Francisco New Orleans District.

We knew we could rely on the Brothers. When we had troubles with a class, when we were struggling with life, they were always there for us. That’s consistency. Whether it was classroom requirements or outside of class expectations, with the Brothers, we always knew where we stood. If we needed advice for that day, or to talk about our futures, they laid out pathways and possibilities.

We knew that the education we were getting, whether in math, literature, or life, the skills we were learning would help make us successful. That’s competence.

And we knew, whether it was one specific Brother with whom we made a connection, or any of the others at our school or in our program, they would listen with compassion and concern, they would find and spend the resources we needed, and most importantly, they would take the time to help us through. We could see it. We could feel it. And that is caring.

We trusted the Christian Brothers to teach us, to keep us safe, and to ensure that we had every opportunity to reach our greatest potential—to become the best version of ourselves that we could possibly be. We learned the skills and gained the knowledge, but through their unwavering example, we also learned the Lasallian values that would serve us for the rest of our lives.

The legacy of these Brothers lives on to this day, in our lives and in our hearts.

And today, those same Brothers need us, just as we needed them. Although we spend $1.6 million annually on the care of senior Brothers and $300,000 on vocations and studies for young Brother postulants and novices annually, the shortfall exceeds $500,000 each year. With your gifts, support, and prayers, we can honor the Brothers who have given so much to educate the young and most vulnerable among us.
