The Christian Brothers were a major force in the wine industry during the middle decades of the 20th century. When Prohibition ended, Br. Timothy became the winemaker for the Christian Brothers for many years at Mont La Salle in Napa, CA. After the Brothers transitioned out of winemaking, Hess Persson Estates took a long-term lease on a portion of the Mont La Salle vineyards and continues to produce a limited edition of wines, with donations of their wine supporting the Lasallian Christian Brothers Foundation through seasonal wine sales.
