2024 Honorees
Our 2024 honorees Peter Boero, John Scudder, and Stephen Wilcox, have demonstrated an unwavering commitment to the Lasallian mission, embodying its values of education, service, and compassion in their respective endeavors.
Peter Boero
Peter is a distinguished graduate of Saint Mary’s College High School in Berkeley. After a successful career in business, Peter accepted the opportunity to return to his alma mater to serve as the director of advancement. In this role, Peter was pivotal in securing crucial financial resources for the school. His efforts significantly contributed to the renovation of academic buildings and the construction of a new Chapel. Moreover, Peter’s support for scholarship funds ensured the school’s commitment to its mission and facilitated a diverse and thriving student body before retiring in 2020.
John Scudder
John Scudder, a graduate of Sacred Heart Cathedral Preparatory in San Francisco, has exemplified remarkable leadership throughout his career. Starting as a teacher and coach at SHCP, John transitioned into administration and ultimately became the school’s president. His tenure was marked by a steadfast dedication to enhancing the school’s identity, facilities, and financial sustainability while upholding Lasallian and Vincentian values. Notably, John’s leadership was instrumental in the establishment of De Marillac Academy and, post-retirement, in the launch of Cristo Rey De La Salle East Bay High School.
Stephen Wilcox
Stephen Wilcox, President of the Wilcox Family Foundation, has been an influential figure in advocating for marginalized communities. His foundation collaborates with nonprofits to address issues affecting underserved populations, focusing on health, education, and employment. Stephen’s extensive experience, including his role as former Chancellor of the Diocese of Oakland and current Chair of the Board of Trustees at Cristo Rey De La Salle East Bay High School have resulted in the graduation of the school’s first class of seniors, many of whom are first-generation college students.
On behalf of the Christian Brothers and LCBF, we are thrilled to recognize Peter Boero, John Scudder, and Stephen Wilcox for their extraordinary contributions to advancing the Lasallian mission. Their dedication to education and service embodies the values we hold dear, and we are honored to celebrate their impactful achievements.
